- iPad Basics for Older Adults: This is a free course with hands-on support. You'll learn the basics of using an iPad, including an overview of its key elements, how to browse the web, use email, download apps, take pictures and much more! iPads are provided. Geared toward adults 60 years and older. Tuesdays or Thursdays at 1:30 PM starting September 4 and 6. Register online or call 240-773-9420 to register.
- E-book & E-reader Drop-in: Need assistance starting your e-book journey? Want to know how to navigate the e-library? Download electronic books, music and movies? Drop in at the Silver Spring Library for one-on-one assistance from a librarian. September 5 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM
- Computer Class: Let's Start at the Beginning: In this class we will go over basics, such as the parts of the computer, using the mouse correctly, getting on the internet, and basics of Microsoft Word. - Intermediate Computer Class: Do you feel comfortable using the computer, but want to learn how to do more? Learn skills such as how to work on creating a resume in Microsoft Word, e-mail, and more. - Creative Software Introduction (GIMP) for Teens and Children: Have you ever wanted to learn how to create original digital art? How to re-touch photos? This introductory workshop will teach you how using GIMP. Ages 10-16, study room 3-1. Saturday, September 15 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Registration required online or by calling 240-773-9420.
